About Us

Who We Are

Fighting Pediatric Cancer One Family At A Time

After witnessing several of their friends children struggle with cancer, Trumansburg residents, Fred and Tracy VanDerzee were inspired to start raising money....and T-Burg Takes On Pediatric Cancer was born. Since their first fundraising event in 2010, the pair, along with a board of a few other community members, have hosted several fundraising events – raising over $600,000 to date and given out approx $500,000 directly to families. Unlike national organizations, we have low administrative costs, with our board members donating their time, expertise, gas money, supplies, and more in order to keep costs low or at zero.

What We Do

Fighting Pediatric Cancer One Family At A Time

When these families receive the devastating news of a pediatric cancer diagnosis, their world stops.

These families find themselves sacrificing work or quitting their jobs, missing bill payments, dealing with failing transportation, traveling 90 miles one way to receive treatment, staying away from home, and, sometimes all while tending to their other children. Everyday life tasks can become overwhelming and things can fall by the wayside because when you are dealing with a sick child- nothing else matters.

This is where we step in to help. T-Burg Takes On Pediatric Cancer raises funds to support these NY families.
